How To Change OWB 11.2 Setup on a Single Server Into a Data Guard Setup (Doc ID 1580168.1)

Goal

This document describes what needs to be done when an existing OWB installation on a single server needs to be changed into a Data Guard installation with a Primary and Standby server.

A. Preparing Primary Server

 1. Backup OWB repository of Primary Database
 2. Create Net Service Name in TNSNAMES.ORA
 3. Change Control Center Service to use the Net Service
 4. Change Locations from Host:Port:ServiceName to NetServiceName Location
 6. Verify the Runtime locations
 7. Verify the setup
 B. Preparing Standby Server
 1. Install Oracle 11.2/OWB 11.2 in the same ORACLE_HOME as on the Primary Server
 2. Create Net Service Name entry in TNSNAMES.ORA
 
C. Switch to standby server
 1. Copy the file rtrepos.properties from the Primary Server to the same directory on the Standby Server
 2. Update Control Center Connections
