Symptoms

Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 BP02 (11.1.2.0.2) spikes to 350-400% CPU at times resulting in OAM protected applications becoming unavailable as the webgates could not establish connections with OAM server. 

The problem may NOT be related to increased load on the system as this problem is known to  surface when there is minimal user activity as well.

 

Output of top command at the time of incident would show high % of cpu for the weblogic server PID on which OAM is deployed
