Creating "memberOf" Relationship Using IDAAS REST Call Fails with 500 Response Code/IDAAS-20029

In following the instructions to "Create a "memberOf" Relationship" as directed at this link

I get an http 500 response.  Why is that?

In fact, attempting to retrieve the group info itself fails as follows;
