OSB: Read and Connection Timeout not Working for Business Service via HTTPS and Proxy Server Returning an HTTP 504 Error (Doc ID 1587127.1)

Last updated on MARCH 28, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Service Bus - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Connection timeout is not working properly when using HTTP PROXY to access an HTTPS endpoint. The read timeout (in case of proxy usage) is honored only when using HTTP but not HTTPS. When a Business Service is invoked using proxy server set up for HTTPS and configured with read socket and connection timeout, this may not be timed out within socket and connection timeout specified on the HTTPS endpoint. Instead, the proxy server returns a HTTP 504 error.
