Issue With SOA11g Parsing Of Delimited Files Using TranslateFromNative Function (Doc ID 1587502.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : version, XSD, XPath Issues (Runtime)

Problem translating data when the last field in a delimited record is null.
For example a record like this:

ABC|202428|2509|Dental|Dental|Associate Plus 2 or more||429|8.25|2012-04-27||N

This data works fine because the last piece of the record has a value (N). However, the below record will not work:
ABC|202428|2509|Dental|Dental|Associate Plus 2 or more||429|8.25|2012-04-27||

For some reason, SOA can’t parse this data and throws an exception.

XPath expression failed to execute.
An error occurs while processing the XPath expression; the expression is ora:translateFromNative(bpws:getVariableData('indicativeCurrentData'),"oramds:/apps/SNIComponents/ApplicationObjectLibrary/B2B/V1/schemas/SendHRIndicativeABM.xsd","IndicativeData").
The XPath expression failed to execute; the reason was: Translation Failure.
[Line=89, Col=95] Translation from native failed. .
The incoming data does not conform to the NXSD schema. Please correct the problem.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run an example of using the translateFromNative XPath function where the data in the last row is null
2. Observe the error
