ADF Faces: contentStyle Attribute For af:inputListOfValues Has No Effect in Internet Explorer
Last updated on AUGUST 05, 2016
Applies to:Oracle JDeveloper - Version 188.8.131.52.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
An ADF application contains a table whose cells contain af:inputListOfValues components. Each input list of values contains a text entry field and a magnifying glass icon to raise the selection dialog box.
If the specified column width is smaller than the width of the contents of the text entry field, the cell is truncated, so that the magnifying glass is clipped off. This is so even though the text entry field could be shrunk with no loss of functionality. To avoid this problem, the developer sets the contentStyle attribute on the af:inputListOfValues component. Setting "ContentStyle="width:XXX"", where XXX is narrower than the width of the column, allows the developer to shrink the text entry field so that the magnifying glass is not clipped off. However, contentStyle has no effect when the browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer. Versions 8-10, at least, are affected. The problem is not seen on FireFox or Google Chrome browser.
