Stuck Threads Bringing The Weblogic Server Down (Doc ID 1590658.1)

Symptoms

Multiple stuck threads in Weblogic Server of a production environment is bringing the WLS server down. The count sometimes goes beyond 200 and then the server becomes unresponsive.

The WebCenter Spaces log file shows:

<Jun 18, 2013 12:49:18 PM CEST> <Error> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000337> <[STUCK] ExecuteThread: '177' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' has been busy for "688" seconds working on the request "Workmanager: default, Version: 0, Scheduled=true, Started=true, Started time: 688780 ms
