OVD 11g: How to Populate Operational Attributes, Such as createTimestamp and modifyTimestamp, with Values from Underlying Database Table Data via OVD DB Adapter? (Doc ID 1590953.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 06, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 11.1.1.7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g, i.e., 11.1.1.7.0.

Trying to use OVD to expose operational attributes createTimestamp and ModifyTimestamp.

When creating a Database (DB) adapter with a root of, for example, ou=users,dc=<DOMAIN>,dc=com, the create/modify values are blank, which is expected, but need a way to hook them to some value from a table.

If mapping the modifyTimeStamp to a timestamp field in database using the db adapter, that still does not show the value.

Able to create a new attribute and map the value from the database which works, but unable to use the operational attribute.

How to populate these operational attributes with values from underlying table data, or to set them in OVD?

This would be required at two levels, the base dn (i.e. ou=users,dc=<DOMAIN>,dc=com) and at the individual entry level (i.e. cn=<USERNAME>,ou=users,dc=<DOMAIN>,dc=com).
