What is Installed in My Middleware or Oracle Home (Doc ID 1591483.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 19, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 10.1.2.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It is important to be aware of what is installed in your Middleware or Oracle home for maintenance purposes. There can be many different products or supportive components integrated for the overall functionality and features of your primary product. These products or components may also be a different version, depending on what was included at release time. A Patch Set for an Oracle Fusion Middleware installation will update your installed products and components. Knowing what you have installed will help you with maintenance planning in between Patch Sets.

If you experience a problem, and able to obtain a document or patch specifically for the single issue on your same environment, it is straight forward to apply. However, if you are trying to be proactive to apply patches across the entire installation, how can an administrator tell what is cumulatively installed for proactive one-off patching purposes?

e.g., Installing Critical Patch Updates is an occasion where you may need to find what is applicable to your environment. Patches are supplied for individual components, not the entire product suite as a single patch.
