Cannot Upload Images In WebCenter Sites 11gR1 BP1 (Doc ID 1595801.1)

Symptoms

Uploading an image or other binary file to an asset with a blob attribute fails with a pop-up message "Upload failed".

The user is making use of web debugging proxy, such as Fiddler, to trace http requests, and the upload request shows a 407 error: Proxy Authentication Required.

WebCenter Sites is installed behind a proxy that requires authentication.

Note: There are two "proxies" here; 1. the proxy server behind which WebCenter Sites is installed; 2. the web debugging proxy tool installed on the user's local machine.
