SOA 11g - The MODIFY_DATE Column in the CUBE_INSTANCE Table Gets Updated With Wrong Value (Doc ID 1596146.1)

Symptoms

The MODIFY_DATE column in the CUBE_INSTANCE table seems to get updated with the wrong value, which gives a false impression that the process took longer than expected time to complete.

As part of a composite flow, an asynchronous BPEL process instance is created/started at 11/09/2013 11:54:43 AM. The same gets completed by 11/09/2013 11:54:49 AM, according to the Audit trail messages.

But when you look at the flow trace of the composite, the BPEL process completion time is shown as 11/09/2013 12:54:45 PM. This is the value updated to the MODIFY_DATE Column in the CUBE_INSTANCE table for the instance.
