On an OAM11gR2 environment, where AD 2008 is used as IdentityStore and WNA is enabled, end-users may sporadically get "An incorrect Username or Password was specified" error-message when trying to login in OAM protected application.
The error-screen is the OAM login-page, where error-message is displayed instead of username/password fields.
When this situation occurs, in the OAM logs following error-sequence is recorded:
The AD 2008 server is located on a different hostname than DomainDnsZones.ag.ad.local, which is referenced in the error-message.
The purpose of this article is to explain the reason of this error-message and how to avoid it.
