OHS 12.1.x Fails to Start on Port Below 1024 on Linux With Error "Permission denied: make_sock: could not bind to address" (Doc ID 1599750.1)

Symptoms

While starting Oracle HTTP Server 12c on privileged port (below 1024) on Linux, it always fails with the error as shown in the ohs1.log:

 

Changes

Changed the Listen port to a privileged port (<= 1024) and followed the Documentation steps:

<Note 1620675.1> How to Enable Oracle HTTP Server 12c to Listen On Ports Less Than 1024 (e.g 80 and 443 ( Unix only )
