Search in Space members "Add Groups" In WebCenter Spaces Limits To 100 Results (Doc ID 1601474.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.5.0 to 11.1.1.5.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When trying to add a group to a space in WebCenter Portal, the GUI shows only 100 results on the search. Depending on the order the groups were created in the external LDAP server, the searched group might display in the resulting list or not.

In to the members tab of the space, type in the group name in the "Add Groups" box. It will only show the first 100 results. This would be fine if the search was doing an exact search. But webcenter is appending an * to what ever was typed in when it send the search to the LDAP for lookup. In this particular case there are 320 names that have the same beginning 4 characters of the role that we want to add to this space. As such, we can't add the group to the space as the scroll box will only show the first 100 entries returned.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1.Create a lot of groups in your external LDAP server, starting with the same name(mygroup in my case).

  mygroup, mygroupa00 to mygroupa99 , mygroupb00 to mygroupb99.etc.. etc

1.1 create a additional group named mygroupa

3. Browse to WebCenter Spaces and sign in.

4. create a new Space

5. Try to add a group like mygroup or mygroupa as member of this Space

Depending on the results of the ldap query, you might or might not be able to see the mygroup or mygroupa.

In my case, mygroup displays but mygroupa doesn't display in the results of the search
