Uneven Load Balancing of HTTP Requests when using the OHS WebLogic Module with a WebLogic Cluster which Contains an Even Number of Managed Servers in the Cluster (Doc ID 1602182.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle HTTP Server - Version 11.1.1.7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In an environment where Oracle HTTP Server 11.1.1.7 (OHS) is being used to balance load to a WebLogic Cluster, and there is an even number of Managed Servers in the Cluster, an uneven distribution of sessions can be experienced.

This results in one of the Managed Servers getting more of the load than other Managed Servers in the Cluster.

Note that this uneven distribution of load is less likely to be experienced if there is an uneven number of Managed Servers in the WebLogic Cluster.
