Content Access (CA) 8.4.1 extracts all Excel text, even when it is hidden. However, there is no indication of hidden text being hidden.  Also, the following information is not provided by Content Access about data in Excel files:

+ hidden rows
+ hidden columns
+ Auto-Filter enabled (whether rows are hidden or not)
+ hidden worksheets
+ very-hidden worksheets
+ protected workbook (structure and/or window)
+ contains Pivot Table
+ protected worksheet
+ revisions (detect presence as well as insert/deletes, like in MS Word)
+ hidden text when text is hidden via formatting: ;;;
