Oracle HTTP Server(OHS) Returns "nzos_Handshake returned 28858" Error with Requests from iOS 6 Devices (Doc ID 1603453.1)

Symptoms

When accessing an application from an iOS 6 device such as iPAD or iPhone (Using Safari browser),  OHS records following error in ohs1.log:

[VirtualHost:hostname.domain:0] NZ Library Error: SSL protocol error [Hint: the client probably speaks HTTPS over HTTP protocol]

[VirtualHost:hostname.domain:0]  nzos handshake error, nzos_Handshake returned 28858(server hostname.domain:443, client yy.yy.yy.yy)


Tested with devices running iOS 7 the error does not occur.
