OPSS - Audit Loader shows Performance Problems (Doc ID 1613082.1)

Last updated on MARCH 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Platform Security for Java - Version 11.1.1.7.0 to 11.1.1.7.0 [Release Oracle11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Observing Performance problems with Audit Loader, for audit to database, particularly in environments where auditing is configured for Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 11g.

The Audit loader is not processing the audit "bus-stop" files fast enough, causing the bus-stop file directory to be rapidly filled up, either to the MaxDirSize for the audit configuration, or if this is set to 0, until the disk is full.

If MaxDirSize is set to 1024MB, the limit is reached within 10 minutes during capacity tests or times of heavy load. When the limit is reached, some bus-stop files are deleted even though the Audit Loader has not yet processed them, causing loss of audit data.

When the capacity test/heavy load stops, Audit Loader continues to work for hours processing bus-stop files.
