WebLogic Server 10.0: Native OutOfMemoryError With High Number of LDAP Connection Threads (Doc ID 1616719.1)

On WebLogic Server 10.0, the LDAP Authentication provider configuration was updated to connect to a new LDAP server. After implementing the change, a native OutOfMemory error starts to occur and too many threads connecting to the LDAP server are observed. A heap dump shows that a high percentage of WebLogic Server threads are associated to LDAP calls (570 out of 888 threads on this issue). The native OOME is observed due to the ongoing requirement of threads to handle those connections:
