How to get the Remote Backend DN for a User in OVD? (Doc ID 1621304.1)

Last updated on MARCH 06, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 10.1.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g, e.g., 11.1.1.6.0.

OVD virtualizes multiple Active Directories (ADs).  The ADs have different domains, but OVD has a single domain; that is:

AD1: dc=<COMPANY>,dc=<DOMAIN1>
AD2: dc=<COMPANY>,dc=<DOMAIN2>
AD3: dc=<COMPANY>,dc=<DOMAIN3>

The OVD domain virtalizing these ADs is:

OVD: dc=mycompany,dc=com

In OVD, these adapters are mapped as:

OVD-AD1: ou=<DOMAIN1>,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com
OVD-AD2: ou=<DOMAIN2>,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com
OVD-AD3: ou=<DOMAIN3>,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com

All the above work fine.

But users in OVD all display their OVD domains, whereas would like to see the actual remote AD distinguished name for all the AD users.

Is there a configuration to accomplish this?
