Search From Siebel Managed Attachments Page Fails After Enabling DATABASE.FULLTEXT Search Engine (Doc ID 1624631.1)

Symptoms

After enabling fulltext search (SearchIndexerEngineName=DATABASE.FULLTEXT) on a WebCenter Content 11g environment, the "Advanced Search" functionality in the Siebel Managed Attachments screen is broken and throws the following error:

"Unable to retrieve Search Results. Error occurred while processing. Unable to return results." 

The content server logs will display the following error stack:
