Trying to Administer the http-listener-1 Configuration in a Domain Migrated From GlassFish Server 2.1.1 Results in a java.lang.RuntimeError or "An error has occurred" Being Reported (Doc ID 1625323.1)

Symptoms

This problem can be encountered in a domain that has been migrated from GlassFish Server 2.1.1 to 3.1.2.

Using the admin console, and navigating to the server configuration's HTTP Service -> HTTP Listeners -> http-listener-1 node results in the error "An error has occurred" being displayed at the top of the configuration page: 

In the server.log file there is a single message, with no error details:
