xInhibitUpdate Attribute Is Incorrectly Inherited From Parent Folder When Copying A Folder Through DIS (Doc ID 1628876.1)

Last updated on APRIL 10, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using WebCenter Content 11gR1-11.1.1.6.0-idcprod1-131008T043959 on Solaris

Folders_g is enabled, and DIS is used as client.

Problem:

When a user drag and drops a non-empty folder to WebCenter Content using DIS, the copied folder inherits the "Inhibit Propagation" attribute (xInhibitUpdate) from the parent folder, even though Note 445376.1 "How to Prevent Folders Static Inheritance of Default Metadata Values for Specific Metadata Fields" has been followed to prevent the attribute to be inherited.

If the parent folder has "Inhibit Propagation" set to True (or xInhibitUpdate=True), when a user drag and drops a non-empty folder through DIS to WebCenter Content, the folder inherits the xInhibitUpdate field, and sets the attribute to True on the child folder, even though the field should not be inherited.

When a user drag and drops an empty folder through DIS, the field is correctly set to False.

Likewise if the user creates a new folder in the Web Interface, the field is correctly set to False as well.
