Oracle Waveset A Default Email Address Is Always Created By The Exchange Email Address Policy Although Custom Email Addresses Are Set When Creating The User (Doc ID 1629812.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 19, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Waveset - Version and later
Identity Manager Connector - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

A default email address is always created by the Exchange Email Address Policy although custom email addresses are set when creating the user in Oracle Waveset using the Exchange Connector
By setting the "EmailAddressPolicyEnabled" attribute to "false" in the user creation request, the creation of default email address by the Exchange Email Address Policy should be disabled.

If a custom email address is set in the "EmailAddresses" attribute and the "EmailAddressPolicyEnabled" attribute set to "false", then the new user should be created with only the custom email address given. But it is created with both the custom and the policy generated email address.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create a user in Oracle Waveset and make it an Exchange resource user with "RecipientType=User" set.
  2. Open the user in Oracle Waveset. Change "RecipientType" to "UserMailbox" and set "EmailAddresses" to a custom email address.
  3. Verify the email addresses of the newly created Exchange mail user. He will have the email address that was configured before, but in addition also an email address created by the Exchange Email Address Policy.
