Imported Spaces: User Profile Information Account Information In UCM Is Not Synchronised For Newly Added Space Member

The entire Spaces application has been exported from one environment and imported into another.
This was done using Enterprise Manager. e.g. as described in the Administrators Guide here : 22.214.171.124 Exporting the Spaces Application Using Fusion Middleware Control
On the target environment, there is a problem with WebCenter Spaces and UCM integration for Spaces that were imported.
When a new user or group is added as a member of a Space, the user is unable to use the Document Explorer taskflow.
They see an error ''Directory Not Found'.
This seems to be because the user profile is not correctly updated in the Content Server.
We can see that the 'Account' details , we do not see the ID for this Space listed.
There are no problems when adding new members to new Spaces created in the instance.
This problem is seen only for Spaces that were imported.
