Standby WebCenter Node Generates More LDAP Requests to Load Balancer for OVDs 11g than Primary WebCenter Node (Doc ID 1635965.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 20, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 11.1.1.0 and later
Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Highly available (HA) WebCenter (WC) and Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g nodes.

Configured OVD as the Authentication Provider in WebLogic Server (WLS).

One WebCenter host (WC2) is standby, and the other is primary (WC1).

Both WC hosts send ldap requests to a load balancer front-ending the OVD hosts in HA.  The OVD nodes' configuration is the same.

Seeing a lot more traffic from WC2 to the load balancer than from WC1.

Due to this, the entire WC2 stack is unusable, resulting in severe delays.

The traffic is observed at the load balancer; the ldap traffic from WC1 and WC2 to the load balancer are significantly different.
