Webcenter Portal: Custom Content Profile not Shown for Blog and Wiki Documents (Doc ID 1638357.1)

Last updated on MARCH 15, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When creating a new Wiki or a new Blog document in a folder that has a
default profile set in UCM then the default profile of the folder is ignored
by Spaces.

For example, if the default profile of the folder contains 3 mandatory custom
fields, then the Wiki or Blog document gets created without prompting the
user for those values.

Steps to Reproduce
1. Define a default profile for a folder in UCM:

1.1. Go to the UCM backend:

1.2. Browse Content -> WebCenterSpaces-Root

1.3. Click on I for a folder

1.4. Folder Actions -> Update

1.5. Profile can be selected from LOV

1.6. Submit Update

2. Create a new Wiki or Blog document in that folder

3. When you check the properties of the Wiki/Blog document then you see that
the mandatory fields of the document are not filled.

This means that the custom profile fields have to be filled in manually from
UCM directly after creating the document.

This is a serious issue, because the mandatory attributes need to store security-related information, and is not acceptable to have it populated only after the initial creation of the document.
