Information in this document applies to any platform.

Highlighting a node in the Application Navigator will update the left hand side of the status bar at the bottom of the JDeveloper IDE with the name of the node or with the full file specification of the file in the JDeveloper workspace.

Highlighting may be achieved by opening container nodes and mouse clicking on the desired node.

Highlighting may also be achieved by the following menu sequence.

Navigate > Go to File... ( Ctrl+Alt-Minus ) to specify search criteria for the desired node and to open it in its editor.
Navigate > Select in Navigator ( Alt-Home ) to open all container nodes and to lightly highlight the node.
View > Application Navigator ( Ctrl+Shift-A ) to heavily highlight the node.

This alternate menu sequence will not update the left hand side of the status bar at all.

Attempts to use a mouse click on this highlighted node continue to make no difference to the status bar.

Only by mouse clicking on any other node and clicking back on the previously highlighted node will the left side of status bar be updated with the full file specification of the file for the highlighted node.
