ODSEE - User Access to Application Slow After Adding Some Users and Increasing Number of Members in a Large Static Group (Doc ID 1642989.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 05, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version 6.3 SP1 to [Release 6.0 to 11gR1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Application SRCH operations to LDAP server slow (with a high etime).

Etime in access log has a 3 second average etime (etime=3).

e.g.  This search uses scope=0 which is a base search (only searches for the entry from the base DN specified; does not do a one level or subtree search) and, in general, should not take so much time.

For example, this SRCH operation has a scope of 0 (scope=0 in the SRCH operation logged) with an etime of 5 seconds (etime=5 in the RESULT line) with  -

[17/Jul/2013:20:13:49 +0800] conn=nnnn op=520 msgId=521 - SRCH base="uid=<USER1>,ou=people,dc=<SUFFIX_DN>" scope=0 filter="(objectClass=*)" attrs="uid givenName sn cn employeeNumber departmentNumber mail telephoneNumber facsimileTelephoneNumber title employeeType description nsAccountLock"
[17/Jul/2013:20:13:54 +0800] conn=nnnn op=520 msgId=521 - RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=1 etime=5

Additional users were added the previous night of the performance issue, and those users were added to a nested static group.
