Icons On Windows 7 Desktop Are Unresponsive After ESSO Deployment

Users experience intermittent issues since ESSO has been deployed to Windows 7 machines.

Icons on the users desktop are present, but they are not clickable.
When this happens, the ESSO agent does not detect the login fields when ESSO enabled applications are launched.

Users are having to reboot or kill all iexplore.exe processes in Task Manager to recover.
