Symptoms
Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g, e.g., 11.1.1.6.
ChangeUserRDN plugin not translating RDN correctly on search, bind and other operations.
For example, existing backend LDAP directory server, e.g. Sun, with uid as the RDN:
dn: uid=test1,ou=People,dc=example,dc=com
uid: test1
mail: test1@123.com
uid: test1
mail: test1@123.com
Configure an ldap adapter in OVD for the above with changeUserRDN plugin using the following parameters:
<param name="fromRDN" value="uid"/>
<param name="toRDN" value="mail"/>
<param name="toRDN" value="mail"/>
Searching for the user test1 uid who also has a mail value in Sun works:
