Symptoms

When attempting to install Oracle API Gateway 11.1.2.2.0, an error is displayed by the installer as follows:

ERROR

Unable to create symbolic link<OAG HOME>/apigateway/platform -> Linux.x86_64

This error can occur when installing the 11.1.2.1.0 version as well, except the directory structure will be different, as OAG-11.1.2.1.0 will be referenced instead of OAG-11.1.2.2.0 as shown here.
