How to Configure All OIM Redirects to HTTPS only With F5 Setup (Doc ID 1672962.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 11, 2019

Applies to:

Identity Manager - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Setup has OIM 11g R2 PS2 behind a F5 loadbalancer. F5 is directly connected to OIM. No proxy or OHS in front of OIM.

SSL offloading is at F5

F5 is set with IS_SSL header with the value of SSL.

After accessing initial URL https://x.x.x.x/identity we see several redirects from OIM containing both http and https in the URL.

For eg:

HTTP GET TO : https://x.x.x.x/identity/faces/signin

returns Javascript which responds with another GET TO

HTTP GET TO : https://x.x.x.x/identity/faces/signin/_?afrLoop.....&_afrWindowMode=0&_afrWindowId=null

this responds with a 302 redirect to http://x.x.x.x/identity/faces/signin/_?afrLoop.....&_afrWindowMode=.......

and this page never responds.

User does not want to open port 80 for password maintenance site for security reasons so the redirect page never responds.

OIM and SOA are configured with plain HTTP. There are firewalls blocking traffic DIRECT to OIM and SOA.

How to make sure all the OIM redirects are from HTTPS only?
