Prompted to Authenticate When Opening a Microsoft Office file

Within the Webcenter Content (WCC) server page, when opening Office files in Internet Explorer (IE), an authentication pop up window is presented.
If the user clicks the Cancel button the pop up window goes away and the document opens.
The user can't put their credentials in and click the OK button because the login box continues to stay on the screen as if their credentials didn't work.
This only occurs in Internet Explorer. In Chrome or FireFox the file opens without being prompted.
