Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 11.1.2.0.0 to 11.1.2.4.0 [Release Oracle11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An ADF application was migrated from adf 11.1.1.5 (11gR1) to adf 11.1.2.x (11gR2). After the migration the required value of bind variables on af:query components doesn't work as in 11.1.1.5. When the required value is empty, the validation message doesn't appears. This happens when the required value in the view is a String.
At runtime the page shows the following Javascript error in the browser:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.UIXEditableValue.REQUIRED' of undefined Locale2_0_0_beta_2.js:651

If the view column is changed to number everything works fine.
