Cannot use kpsadmin Command after Admin Node Manager Password Change

Symptoms
Oracle API Gateway (OAG) 11.1.2.2.0.
After the Admin Node Manager password was changed as follows:
- Connect to the API Gateway Manager on the Admin Node Manager at https://<IP>:8090/,
- Click Settings icon (at top right)
- Click Profile.
- At tab My credentials insert a new password for "Change the password for connecting to Admin Node Manager"
kpsadmin always fails, regardless of operation.
Example error when running kpsadmin, using option 30:

Embedded Service Administration:
30) Show configuration
General:
40) Change Table
41) Change Collection
42) Change Group or Admin API Server
q) Quit
Select option: 30 <---- enter the 30 here
Getting Topology...
Error:
There was a problem determining the Topology: None
Is the admin node manager running?
Check the connection parameters.
Run kpsadmin with verbose mode turned on: i.e. kpsadmin -v
Embedded Service Administration:

General:
40) Change Table
41) Change Collection
42) Change Group or Admin API Server
q) Quit
Select option: 30 <---- enter the 30 here
Getting Topology...
Error:
