New User Self Registration UI throws "has insufficient permission: Error For Custom LOV Field (Doc ID 1675200.1)

Symptoms

New User Self Registration UI throws following error for a custom LOV field added in the self registration form UI:

Error returned is: [EJB:010160]Security Violation: User: '<anonymous>' has insufficient permission to access EJB: type=<ejb>,
application=oim#11.1.2.0.0, module=iam-ejb.jar, ejb=tcLookupOperationsIntf, method=getLookupValuesx, methodInterface=Remote, signature=
{java.lang.String,java.util.Map,java.util.Locale,java.lang.String}
