Login Error Messages Not Rendered Anymore After Upgrade To 11.1.1.8 (Doc ID 1675825.1)

Last updated on JULY 07, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

WebCenter upgraded from the version 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.8.

Before the upgrade and on the production environment when the user undertakes the login process and inserts wrong credentials, he/she is provided with an error message.
In the upgraded environment this is not happening anymore and the only thing that happens is that fields are blanked out and user has to reinsert their credentials.

The issue is shown using the login system page since removing the view application grant for public users and customizing it just on a graphical level.

The error message is actually inside a box on the page which is rendered following this rule:

 .
This applies both on the old and on the new environment, but in the old everything works fine whereas on the new one, is not working anymore.

The issue has been reproduced in all browsers (IE10, IE11, Firefox 17, Chrome 32).

Trying to login with the default Welcome Page, the issue does not appear, but it does again even on the not customized system login page.

Changes

 Upgrade to WebCenter 11.1.1.8.
