My Oracle Support Banner Connection refused Error Connecting The Mail Server From OIM (Doc ID 1676686.1)

Error Connecting the mail server from OIM:  Attempted to configure the OIM server to perform email notification when an OID User is created.

Tried testing if the email notification feature is configured correctly and indeed working -> from Enterprise Manager: SOA-INFRA: Send Notification Test

as shown in 14.4.2 Troubleshooting SOA Email Notification

It was noted the emails did not get sent and OIM diagnostic logs reported there is a communication connection problem. stacktrace as given below

javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP, port: 25, response: 554

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Configure UMS driver properties -enable UMS notification provider
2. Follow the documentation / KM note for the configuration:
How to Configure a UMS Adapter for Email Activation Processes within SOA ( <Document 1531478.1> )

Only Outgoing Mail server properties are set SOA human Workflow is configured to send email and other required properties as given in the documentation
