In "Add/Edit Proxy Server" screen (System Administration -> Global Resources -> Proxy Servers -> Add/Edit).
These are the credentials that OSB will use to authenticate to an intermediate HTTP proxy server when it is configured to do so by a particular Business Service configuration.

Different protocols will result in different HTTP headers being passed from OSB to the proxy server as part of the authentication protocol.
In the "Add/Edit Proxy Server" screen where the credentials have been provided, there is no option to specify what authentication protocol OSB should use. Furthermore, the documentation does not specify which protocol
OSB will use for this authentication.
