ODSEE - Certificates in DSCC Disappear (Doc ID 1679631.1)

Last updated on APRIL 18, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version 6.3 to 11.1.1.5.2 [Release 6.0 to 11gR1]
Sun SPARC Sun OS

Symptoms

Issue description:

Bug documented in Doc 1594221.1 was identified after installation of Solaris 10 Samba patch - patch ID 119757-28.

The workaround described using environment variable "LD_LIBRARY_PATH" was performed and the Directory Server was able to be started.

However, in the DSCC, it was noticed that the certificates disappeared.

Tried to fix issue by unregistering and re-registering the server again.  The server won't start using the DSCC due to missing libraries and access denied.

The following command line was run:

$ /ODSEE_HOME/bin/dsccreg add-server -h <Server-Hostname>  --description "Primary LDAP Repository 1" /<$ODSEE_HOME/<INSTANCE_NAME>
Enter DSCC administrator's password:
/ODSEE_HOME/bin/dsadm exited with error 9
  /<$ODSEE_HOME/<INSTANCE_NAME> has not been registered in DSCC on <Server-Hostname>.

and the issue returned:
/ODSEE_HOME/bin/dsadm exited with error 9  /ODSEE_HOME/INSTANCE_NAME has not been registered in DSCC on <Server-Hostname>

In this example it is version: ODSEE 11.1.1.5.0 Native Distribution ( Solaris Sparc packages)
