Purpose

The purpose of this document is to describe the support position for active-passive (cold failover cluster) high availability solutions for Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW) 12c products.

Furthermore, any product-specific steps to achieve an active-passive solution will be outlined.

Scope

This document is targeted at System Architects, Administrators and any technical resource needing to install Oracle FMW 12c products on to a hardware cluster in active-passive setup.

It is assumed that the reader is familiar with general high availability concepts and Oracle FMW 11g solutions, as documented extensively in the FMW 11g documentation.
