This document provides an overview of the various Java SE releases and schedules.  It differentiates Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), Patch Set Updates (PSUs), Bundled Patch Releases (BPRs), as well as Public releases vs. Commercial releases.  Also, it provides an understanding of how to obtain the updates and discusses supportability.
