OAM 11R2: Domains With Hyphen In The Domain Name Cause The Unified Installer to Fail (Doc ID 1683197.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 20, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Access Manager - Version 11.1.2.2.1 to 11.1.2.2.2 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Deployment fails with an error similar to this:

Incorrect host format for attribute : PRIMARY_OAM_SERVERS : <SERVER-NAME_FQDN>

One of the tools invoked during the deployment process cannot handle host names containing the hyphen (-) character. The solution was to Use host names that do NOT contain the hyphen (-) character.

Documentation confirms that using a hyphen in the domain name will cause the installer to fail but does this also include domain names?

15.10.1.1 Deployment Fails with Error: Incorrect Host Format for Attribute

eg:  <SERVER-NAME_FQDN>
