Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 6.0.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This article describes how Activex Controls and OLE Servers
can be automated from web forms using JAVA-COM bridges. Client-Server
forms applications extensively use the OLE2 protocol to automate
OLE Servers like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. These applications
can be migrated to the web by using a java bean which automates Activex Controls
and OLE Servers via a JAVA-COM bridge.

In this article, the JACOB JAVA-COM bridge and Microsoft Word have been used as
an example. The JACOB JAVA-COM bridge can be downloaded from
https://danadler.com/jacob .
