Force Shutdown of WLS Server Fails Within the Configured Timeout of 120 Seconds (Doc ID 1900434.1)

Symptoms

WLS managed Servers are part of a Coherence cluster.  When performing a force shutdown either from Admin console or using the WLST scripts, intermittently some of the managed servers are hanging for 120 seconds and generating a thread dump:
