OUD Requires an Absolute Path to the Backup File for Restoring
(Doc ID 1905346.1)
Last updated on NOVEMBER 12, 2019
Applies to:
Oracle Unified Directory - Version 11.1.2.2.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
In OUD, the "restore" command requires a path to the directory that contains the backup archive, specified with the -d or --backupDirectory flags. The command further requires that the specified path is absolute. Using relative paths will result in an error:
[...]severity=SEVERE_ERROR msg=An error occurred while attempting to examine the set of backups contained in backup directory [...]: No backup directory descriptor file was found
The requirement to specify absolute paths should be documented, as the undocumented requirement can cause some confusion for customers.
