Why Should We Recompile/link Our Tuxedo Applicative Servers During A Upgrade To Tuxedo 12cR2 (12.1.3)? (Doc ID 1906504.1)

Last updated on JUNE 10, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Even Tuxedo 12cR2 documentation stated that the rebuild is not necessary when you upgrade from Oracle Tuxedo 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 while our upgrade testing some of Tuxedo 12.1.3 Applicative Servers fail to start.

The root cause is that the applicative severs binaries built under Tuxedo 12cR1 (12.1.1) reference libcrypto.so.1.0.0 (mandatory depending on the usage of LLE, SSL or Oracle DB) which is not more included in the Tuxedo 12cR2 (12.1.3).
