Goal

There is information about the Oracle Reports Credential Store which can be managed over the Enterprise Manager console. It can safely store username/password key pairs. The question is now, if it is possible to store the username/password for a database login in this credential store which then can be used in a Report to automatically to log in to the database ?

When not having Single Sign On and OID  the alternative is that database username/password is stored for the automatic logon in the cgicmd.dat file, which is stored there un-encrypted.

When having Single Sign On and OID the alternative is to store database credentials in a RAD in OID and pass them to the report request via SSOCONN parameter.
