Custom Search Adapters Are Not Getting Invoked In WebCenter Framework Application 11.1.1.8.x (Doc ID 1909483.1)

Last updated on MARCH 14, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After having upgraded a WebCenter Framework application from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.8.x, the custom Search Adapters are not getting invoked any more.

The sample code of the application created in 11.1.1.6 has been taken from the following documentation

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_search.htm#CBHEHEDE

Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle WebCenter Portal
11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.0)

Part Number E10148-19

45.3.9
Building Adapters for the Search Service

and  should still work in 11.1.1.8.x as documented here:

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/webcenter.1111/e27739/jpsdg_search.htm#CBHEHEDE

Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developing Portals with Oracle WebCenter Portal and Oracle JDeveloper
11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.3)

Part Number E27739-05

45.3.6
Building Adapters for Search

The setup works fine in 11.1.1.6 and 11.1.1.7, but when the same EAR is deployed to 11.1.1.8.x, the search adapters are not getting invoked at all.

Searching for users e.g. 'testuser' works fine but for the search term 'Init' which should be found from the custom search base there are no results.

Changes

Patch up to 11.1.1.8.x.
